Production process and principle of aluminum alloy extrusion die

The production process of aluminum alloy extrusion die involves multiple steps, combining design, processing, heat treatment and other processes to ensure the accuracy and durability of the die

Production process:

Demand analysis and design:

Demand analysis: Determine the specific specifications and performance requirements of aluminum alloy profiles according to customer needs and the use environment of the product.

Design mold: Use CAD software to design the mold, including the size, shape, cooling system and exhaust holes of the mold. The fluidity of the material and the strength of the mold should be considered during the design process.

Material selection:

Select high-strength, high-temperature resistant and wear-resistant mold steel materials, such as H13 steel, which have good heat treatment properties and mechanical properties.

Blank manufacturing:

According to the design drawings, the mold steel material is cut into the required blank size, and preliminary forging or heat treatment is performed to improve the internal structure and mechanical properties of the material.

Rough processing:

Use lathes, milling machines and other machine tools to rough process the blank, remove excess material, and initially form the shape and basic size of the mold.

Heat treatment:

Heat treatment of the mold, including quenching and tempering, to improve the hardness and wear resistance of the mold. The hardness of the mold after heat treatment is generally between HRC45-50.

Finishing:

Use CNC machine tools (CNC) for finishing to ensure the dimensional accuracy and surface finish of the mold. Finishing includes turning, milling, drilling, wire cutting and other processes.

Pay special attention to the machining accuracy of the cavity and working part to ensure the quality of the aluminum alloy profile.

Electrospark machining:

Electrical spark machining (EDM) is performed on the complex parts of the mold to further improve the accuracy and surface quality of the mold.

Assembly and debugging:

Assemble the various parts of the mold to ensure that the overall structure and working state of the mold meet the design requirements.

Carry out mold trials to verify the working performance and product quality of the mold, and make necessary adjustments and optimizations based on the results of the mold trials.

Surface treatment:

Surface treatment of the mold, such as nitriding, chrome plating, etc., to improve the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the mold.

Quality inspection:

Carry out comprehensive quality inspection on the mold, including size inspection, surface quality inspection and performance inspection, to ensure that the mold meets the design requirements and quality standards.

Manufacturing principle

Extrusion principle: The extrusion molding of aluminum alloy profiles is to place the aluminum alloy billet heated to a certain temperature in the extrusion barrel of the extruder, and apply pressure through the extrusion rod to make the aluminum alloy billet pass through the mold cavity to form a profile of the desired shape.

Material flow: During the extrusion process, the aluminum alloy billet flows under high temperature and high pressure. When passing through the mold cavity, due to the limitation of the mold, the material flow direction and speed change, and finally form the cross-sectional shape of the profile.

Mold design: The mold cavity design must take into account the fluidity and shrinkage of the material to ensure that the material can pass through the mold smoothly during the extrusion process and form a precise profile shape.

Heat treatment and surface treatment: Heat treatment improves the hardness and wear resistance of the mold, and surface treatment further enhances the corrosion resistance and wear resistance of the mold and extends the service life of the mold.

Application and Maintenance

Application fields: Aluminum alloy profile extrusion dies are widely used in the fields of construction, transportation, electronic appliances, mechanical equipment, etc., and are used to produce various aluminum alloy profile products, such as door and window frames, radiators, guide rails, etc.

Maintenance: Regularly check the wear of the mold, repair and maintain it in time, keep the mold in good working condition, and ensure stable product quality.

By strictly controlling each production link, the accuracy and durability of the mold are ensured, thereby ensuring the efficiency and product quality of aluminum alloy profile extrusion production
